自製六胜肽類肉毒精華液 | DIY Argireline Serum
The fine line reduction affect of this serum has blown my mind. I tend to have makeup creasing in the fine lines under my eyes. Even with years of honing my makeup skills and trying oh-so-many products to minimize it, the creasing can still creep up on me when I didn’t get a good night sleep or had a glass too many the night before. Microneedling has been the only beauty treatment that I’ve found helpful in minimizing these fine lines, until I started incorporating Argireline into my skincare routine.
Argireline solution, also known as Botox in a jar or acetyl hexapeptide-3, has diminishing effectiveness with temperature above 40°C. I want to showcase the easy way to add ingredients that may require heating with Argireline, so I’ve added allantoin, which is one of My Top 5 Active Skincare Ingredients. You can of course omit this step and ingredient for a simpler recipe.
To create this potion, I use warm water around 50~70°C to mix with allantoin powder in one vessel and set aside. In another container, I first mix hyaluronic acid powder, collagen powder and niacinamide powder with glycerin and propandiol to create a slurry. I then add my hydrasol of choice to the slurry and whizz away with my electric foam frother. It will take a while for the hyaluronic acid and collagen powder to fully dissolve. If you don’t have the patience to do so, you can prepare the solution a day ahead and it should dissolve completely overnight.
I then add my slightly warm allantoin solution into my room temperature hyaluronic acid serum solution. This would cool down the allantoin solution quickly. To be on the safe side, you can of course check the temperature of the mixed solution to ensure that it is below 40°C. Alternatively, by touch, it should feel just slightly higher than your body temperature. I then mix in my Argireline solution and broad spectrum preservatives and it’s ready for use.
This serum is on the thinner side compared to my other DIY Serums, but it’s equally moisturizing and plumping with the additional benifit of fine line reduction. I have not tried any commecial Argireline products just yet, but I’m pretty amazed by this simple and easy DIY solution!
